At Backwards Company, we've managed to pull of some pretty ambitious projects. As young college freshman in the summer of 2005 we produced a risky and completely irrational show called "Dreams, Oh Dreams." This play was about acheiving goals and tearing down oppressive walls, and we did it first for a reason. We started this company to change how theatre was produced. To create a new, and better creative process. However, our past two seasons have failed to serve that mission in a way that we think is relevant to the community. Yes, we have entertained but, no, we have not informed or brought upon change.
Well, we're happy to announce that a major re-examination of our mission and what it means to us and the community is set to take place between now and May of 2008. This nine month period will be used to prepare ourselves for the launch of our first full season, set to begin in June of 2008. Know that while we are dark, we are continuously commiting time and resources to furthering our goals and serving our patrons.
We would like to thank all of you who help us out financially, physically, emotionally, and all of the above. The last three years have been a roller coaster and the next five will be no different. But, with support from all of you, we know that this company can and will last for decades. So thank you.
